1st January - the 8th day after Christmas - is the Feast of the circumcision and naming of Jesus.
We have a communion service at 10am at Christ the King

In accordance with the Law of Moses Jesus was circumcised on the 8th day. In addition to this event marking Jesus' identification witht he people of Israel it also represents the first shedding of his blood.

By this act Jesus is entered into the covenant of God andhis people; we take this opportunity to reflect upon our own covenant with God, entered into by the promises made at our Baptism.
