Gracious God,
there are debts to you and to others that we cannot pay.
There are mistakes that we cannot undo.
There are words that we cannot unsay.
But because you forgive us, we can take another step,
face another day with confidence,
and rejoice at your love for us and for all creation.
Amen.

Holy God,
we reach out to you in thankfulness knowing that you will bless us
with stability in turmoil, courage in conflict, and grace in unity.
May we both challenge and change those things in ourselves,
in our church, our community, and our world, that dishonour your
love for us and spoil our relationships with one another, so that
we may grow in the likeness of your Son, and bring peace where
there is brokenness – to your glory.
Amen.

Let us meet Jesus; in him we see God.
Let us seek his presence as a friend.
Let us follow him for his way is life and truth.
He will bring us where we need to be
to do God’s work and be God’s people.

Almighty God, from ancient times you have reminded your people to listen to the cries of those excluded or marginalised; and through Jesus you have expanded your people Israel to include us, with an invitation to all the world.
Thank you for your generous and caring nature. Help us to mirror it in our lives and actions, as we hear with your ears, see with your eyes, and love with your heart.
We praise you for your arms outstretched to save the lost, to include the excluded, to raise those the world despises. You are God of the outcast and stranger, welcoming all, making friends of foes.
Amen.

Almighty God, you are found in the middle of our storms,
calm and reassuring; the wind and waves do not overcome you.
You are the voice that bids us step forth in faith,
and the hand outstretched to save when we falter.
We adore you for all that you are;
our shelter, our safe haven, our anchor.
Amen.

Loving God,
whose Son Jesus Christ, transfigured and transfiguring,
shows us the true nature of love,
we praise you for all the glimpses of your radiance
with which you bless us:
in stillness,
in suddenness,
in chaos,
in creation,
in one another.
May the strength of your gentleness sink deep within us,
the freshness of your agelessness, inspire us
and the wonder of your approving Spirit
equip us to transform,
and to be transformed
that our lives may reflect the love we would proclaim, share and die for.
Amen.

Father, all time is in your hand, unfolding;
we see so little of it in a lifetime,
yet sometimes it is overwhelming.
God of the kingdom of heaven,
you are our haven in life’s storms,
our lifeline in calamity;
we watch and await your coming in power.
Amen.

God, you are the open arms of acceptance,
the warmth of a hearty welcome,
the joy of a sincere smile.
We cannot see you,
and Jesus walked the earth long before our time,
yet we know by faith
that he embodied your welcoming presence
in his dealings with your needy children.
We bow before you in worship and adoration
for all that you are.
Amen.

Lord God, you have borne our pains, shared our journeys, offered us unconditional love. You have breathed your Spirit into us, blessed us with the gift of your Son, you have sacrificed so much for us. We adore you and offer you our lives.
You have given us a vision of your kingdom, have offered us a way of life worth living, a loving to share, a presence at all times. We adore you and offer you our lives.
Amen.

Almighty God, your being lightens our darkness.
It melts our cold hearts and warms us to the core.
It reveals truth to us and shows us the way.
It leads us on and speaks in ways we can know and feel.
Almighty God, your being is the essence of our being,
the source of our life, the purpose of our living,
the cleansing of our sin, the justification of your creation.
Almighty God, you are the one we adore –
faithful, unshakeable, for ever.
Amen.

Lord Jesus, by your ascension you left our world,
but you did not abandon us.
You promised the Spirit –
who comes to us and makes a home within us,
who reminds us of you,
who guides and protects us
and surrounds us with God’s love.
Help us to be aware of your presence today.
Amen.

With you, O God, we are surrounded by love,
by meaning and purpose, peace and completeness.
You are our all, our grounding and our reason for being.
You are our truth and in you we put our trust,
in you we believe,
in you we find strength and purpose, joy and hope.
You are known to us in our imperfection,
we glimpse you and catch our breath at the wonder of the revelation.
We hear an echo and we strain our ears to hear it again.
We sense your presence and we tense our being wanting more.
You are within us and yet beyond us.
We adore you for what we know
and what is still to be revealed. Amen.

Jesus wanted us to have life and live it to the full.
Lord, you are the good shepherd
who gave his life for his sheep –
and that means us!
As a shepherd knows his sheep by name,
so, Lord, do you know each one of us.
You call us by our name
to come into your divine presence –
we worship you, O Lord.
Amen.

Father God, you are always there for us,
whether we feel it or not.
Lord Jesus, you come to us and say: ‘Peace be with you’;
we open our hearts and receive your perfect peace into our imperfect doubting lives.
Holy Spirit, you lead us to the fullness of joy;
Come, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Lord God of resurrection,
we give you thanks and praise
for your mighty power
that brought Christ from the tomb
and brought a new world into being.
Thank you for the new life
that we experience afresh this Easter Sunday.
We receive your resurrection power
with thanks and praise.
Alleluia! Christ is risen.

Go with us, good Lord, on our journey to the cross and beyond.
Help us to pass on our enthusiasm to others.
Keep us faithful to Jesus, our saviour and friend.

Lord, we are drawn to your well
to seek the water of eternal life.
Refresh us with your Word.
Surround us with your Love.
And fill us to overflowing with your Spirit,
the water of life,
that we may never be thirsty.
Amen.

Jesus Christ, our wonderful Lord and Saviour,
who when tempted in the desert, resisted,
in the world, but not of the world:
we worship and adore you.
When tempted by bread, you chose the word of God.
When tempted to be spectacular, you chose humility.
When tempted by riches and power, you chose servanthood.
Lord Jesus Christ, we worship and adore you.
Amen.

Transforming God,
we come to the foot of your cross
and say sorry when we don’t listen.
We are sorry when we miss you in the midst of our lives,
when we fail to glimpse you,
even when you are shining so bright before us.
We are sorry when we are afraid and don’t trust you,
when we fall asleep, absorbed in our own lives,
when we make our own conclusions and don’t involve you,
when we think we know best.
Help us to always seek refuge in you,
to be transformed by your brightness,
and draw closer to you.
Amen.

God of Life,
we pray for your people and your creation.
Where there is anxiety – bring calm.
Where there is cruelty – bring gentleness.
Where there is pollution – bring solutions.
Where there is displacement – bring belonging.
Where there is discrimination – bring justice.
Where there is complacency – bring urgency.
Where there is vulnerability – bring protection.
Where there is scarcity – bring abundance.
And wherever there is need – send us, use us and enable us to make a difference.
For the healing of the earth, and for the good of all.
We ask this in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
